Los Silver members Beto Lozano and Itza Urquiz are brothers who grew up in the small town of Asunción del General San Miguel,, or " la ciudad maravillosa" . Their father, Rolando Lozano (c. ) was a professional soccer player, and owned the famous Roca Roja, the second most popular soccer team in Paraguay . Los Silver was formed in 1980 by Rolando Lozano and fellow Asunción musicians Itza Urquiz, Beto Lozano, and Vicente Viegas. After the group's first album sold over 500,000 copies, Los Silver embarked on a worldwide concert tour that extended over three years, playing in more than 15 countries and selling over a million albums. In Los Silver's early years, the group gained fame with a series of hits, including their iconic theme song called " Pueblo en la distancia ", or " Town in the Distance " (a reference to their home town), "Morirás de amor", "Clavados en el mismo puente", and "Cielo caliente". Their most popular album, titled Nueva migraci on tobe ("Pueblo en la distancia"), spawned the hits "No vuelvo a verte ", "La puerta de mi casa" (a duet with Colombian singer/actress Thalía ), and "No va a cambiar". The group's popularity grew with the release of their follow-up album, El epico de los Simpson ("The Epic of the Simpsons"), followed by their third and final album titled All the Pretty Monsters, which was released in Los Silver's home country of Paraguay. Los Silver's success in the United States, however, was limited as their albums sold poorly and were often out of print . In 1995, Los Silver released a compilation album titled Los Silver in concert, which contained live versions of some of their most popular songs.
